Australia: update on Tropical Cyclone Iris

Tropical Cyclone Iris is expected to continue on its current southeasterly track during April 4 and is forecasted to weaken below tropical cyclone intensity on Thursday April 5, wilhelmsen.com reports.

Mackay, Hay Point and Abbot Point Ports remain closed due to effects of Tropical Cyclone Iris. All vessels have left the anchorage positions and will not return until the Regional Harbour Master re-opens the ports. At the Port of Gladstone, gale wind warning is in force from 0001hrs lt on April 4. Vessels at anchor are advised to: be prepared to heave anchor and proceed to sea; monitor their anchorage position and take appropriate action if they begin dragging their anchor; ensure that all hatches and vents are secure, and that crew keep a sharp lookout.

Abbot Point Terminal is aiming to recommence loading from 1500 hrs lt on April 6; Dalrymple Bay Terminal is aiming to recommence operations on April 7; Hay Point Terminal is aiming to recommence operations on April 6.
